Role
As U Mobile moves into a pivotal phase of growth and market expansion, we are seeking a dynamic Strategy Manager to serve as the department’s market insights specialist and to drive strategic initiatives. In this role, you will operate as a high-impact strategic partner reporting directly to the Head of Department. You will be responsible for driving critical strategic initiatives from ideation through to implementation. Simultaneously, you will partner with the Strategy Planning team to provide the competitive intelligence and market insights that inform our broader strategy and financial planning frameworks.
The Day-To-Day Activities
1. Drive Strategic Initiatives
- Initiative Leadership: Drive the end-to-end execution of high-priority corporate projects assigned by the Head of Department, ensuring successful delivery from conception to operational readiness.
- Feasibility & Validation: Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies and assessments for emerging opportunities. You will engage with external vendors, validate solution maturity, and build robust business cases to support investment decisions.
- Cross-Functional Orchestration: Lead working groups across IT, Network, and Marketing to ensure initiative milestones are met on time and within scope.
2. Competitive Intelligence & Market Analysis
- Competitive Simulation: Lead dynamic strategic simulations to stress-test corporate plans. You will model potential competitor responses and market shifts in reaction to the company’s strategic moves to anticipate risks and defensive tactics.
- Market Data Management: You will track macro-economic trends, market sizing, and digital economy indicators to ensure the Strategy Planning team has accurate inputs for financial modeling.
- Trend Monitoring: Proactively monitor the industry landscape, producing periodic briefs on disruptive threats, emerging technologies, and consumer behavior shifts to leadership.
3. Initiative Performance
- Project Tracking: Monitor the results of implemented initiatives against their original business cases (ROI and KPIs) to ensure they deliver the expected benefits.
- Post-Implementation Review: Conduct reviews of completed pilots and strategic projects to capture lessons learned and validate that operational targets are being met
