Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to lead and manage various projects within the organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and closing projects to ensure delivery within scope, timeline, budget, and quality standards. The Project Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, business users, and key stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes and ensure project benefits are realized. This role will also support the PMO in managing IT change initiatives across UM.

The Day-To-Day Activities

Project Delivery
  • Manage end-to-end project delivery, including defining project scope, developing project plans and timelines, monitoring budgets, and managing resources to achieve delivery targets within agreed parameters.
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, Marketing, Sales, Operations) to ensure seamless execution across all workstreams.
  • Motivate and guide project team members while driving accountability for assigned tasks and deliverables.
  • Establish and facilitate project governance, including steering committees, status reporting, and risk/issue escalation to effectively manage scope and change control.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while driving timely issue resolution to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and business users to ensure project deliverables meet agreed quality standards.
  • Manage and optimize project budgets, ensuring expenditures remain within approved limits.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes, frameworks, governance standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including key decisions, actions, and changes, to ensure traceability and audit readiness.
  • Monitor project progress against milestones and proactively resolve roadblocks to avoid delays.
  • Manage project transition activities to operational teams and ensure proper project closure.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support go-to-market readiness by ensuring systems, communications, and customer journeys are prepared for successful launches.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned, share best practices, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Management
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., UM leadership, business teams, ISD GTM teams, PMO) and external vendors/partners to deliver effective solutions.
  • Engage and onboard key stakeholders required for project execution while aligning expectations and responsibilities.
  • Proactively engage stakeholders to identify, mitigate, and resolve potential risks and issues.
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related communications with stakeholders.
  • Provide regular project status updates, including progress, risks, issues, and mitigation plans to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Facilitate effective communication within project teams and across departments.
  • Develop and maintain standardized reports and dashboards at both project and program levels for various stakeholders (e.g., Leadership, CIO, GTM).
  • Leverage technology and automation tools to streamline reporting, improve transparency, and support timely decision-making and risk management.
  • Support the PMO Head of Department in creating and maintaining a portfolio view of all ISD change initiatives, including project health status, achievements, risks, and challenges.
Strategic Portfolio Management
  • Ensure all ISD change initiatives are aligned with UM and ISD strategic objectives and have clearly defined business benefits.
  • Support the PMO Head of Department in facilitating demand planning activities to eliminate redundancies, identify synergies, prioritize initiatives, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Support release management processes to provide visibility into planned system changes and ensure smooth transition into operations.
Project Management Best Practices and Compliance
  • Ensure projects are executed in compliance with UM and ISD processes, policies, and governance standards.
  • Promote the use of standardized project management tools, templates, and methodologies across projects.
  • Recommend continuous improvements to project management processes, tools, and templates based on lessons learned and industry best practices.

About You

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or Scrum) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management within the Telecommunications, ICT, or related industry.
  • Proven track record in managing and delivering projects from initiation to completion.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams across IT, business, marketing, and operations.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, governance, risk management, and project delivery practices.
  • Proficient in project management and collaboration tools such as MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
