Job Summary
- This is a key position to develop and manage U Mobile IP Exchange (IPX) traffic strategy, to deliver a high performance, resilient and cost-effective architecture / topology.
- The person would represent U Mobile to interface towards IPTX providers, IX data centres (AIMS, Equinix etc.), as well as content partners (for hosted CDN deployment, direct peering) – establishing and managing the business relationship.
- Working closely with the engineering team and marketing team to manage IPX traffic capacity – for new or capacity upgrade for hosted CDN, direct peering and/or IPTX.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Custodian of mid-term network strategy, architecture for IPX setup.
- Track, manage IPX capacity requirement and traffic projection; plan and implement capacity upgrade, and new content partner introduction.
- Control and improve IPX delivery cost and user data experience; with localization of contents (introduction of new content partner via CDN or direct peering), and minimizing IPTX traffic ratio.
- Represent U Mobile in IPX related industry forums; establish and manages good business relationship with all major content partners, IX data centers providers, and IPTX providers.
- Lead RFP / RFQ for IPX projects, e.g. hosted CDN deployment, new / upgrade of direct peering, IPTX provider award.
- Support the yearly budget planning (AOP) for IPX – Capex and Opex.
